기억하라 함께 지낸 행복한 나날을
그 시절 삶은  훨씬 더 활발했고
인생도 무척이나 아름다웠다
갈퀴로 긁어모은 마른 이파리
나는 그 나날을 잊을 수가 없어
나는 또 마른 잎을 갈퀴로 긁어모으고 있다

갈퀴로 긁어모은 마른 이파리들
추억과 후회 또한,
망각의 추운 밤 속으로
북풍이 그들을 데려가고 있다
있잖아,  난 잊지 않았어
당신이 나를 위해 불러준 노래

그것은 우리를 닮은 노래이다
우리 둘이서 같이 살았는데,
나를 사랑한 너
당신을 사랑했던 나도

하지만 인생은 사랑하는 사람들을 갈라놓는다
언제나처럼 부드럽게
아무 소리 없이
바다는 모래에서 지워지고
연인들의 발걸음이 제 갈 길을 갔다

자크 프레베르는 프랑스의 시인이자 시나리오 작가이다
프랑스 뇌이쉬르센에서 태어나 파리에서 자랐으며
초등 교육을 마치고 수료증을 받은 후 학교를 그만두고
파리의 주요 백화점인 봉 마르셰에서 점원으로 근무했으며
1918년 제1차 세계 대전에 참여하기도 했다
