그리움은 나의 숙명 . 에릭 악셀 칼펠트

그리움은 나의 숙명,
계곡에 홀로 서 있는 외로운 성
바람결처럼 잡히지 않는
거문고 선율이 성 가득 울려 퍼진다

계곡이여 한탄하며 흐르는
너의 이유를 말해다오
어두운 성 깊은 곳에서
잠들지 못하고 꿈꾸는 밤을 노래하는가

비밀 스레 속삭이듯 울리는
한숨과도 같은 영혼은 누구인가
벌통에서 뿜어 내는 향기처럼
사랑 가득 황금빛 들판을 떠다니느뇨

작렬하던 태양도 사라져간다
세월이 나를 지치게 하여도
장미는 여전히 향기를 내뿜고
추억이 속삭이듯이 가슴 깊이 아롱진다

거문고 현을 퉁겨다오,
꿈꾸는 성에 너와 함께 머물고 싶다
그리움은 나의 숙명
나는 상실의 계곡에 홀로 외로운 성

Longing is my inheritance,
A castle in the valley of loss.
Softly the music of a strange lyre
Resounds through its halls.

Tell me why you flow, lamenting stream,
Out of the depths of gloomy rooms,
You who sing me into dreams by day,
And wake me with your singing at night?

Whose is the soul that breathes, in sighs and tones,
From those secret strings,
Lovely as the scent from the bees' hives
Floating over yellowing meadows?

The summers fade and the sun goes down;
The hours become heavy for me,
The roses are fragrant in withered beds,
Memories whisper and sing.


Resound, lamenting strings,
My only companion in these dreaming halls!
Longing is my inheritance,
A castle in the valley of loss.
